Outbound selling can reach people faster than inbound selling through an effective lead generation strategy or service may achieve better results in the short term by going outward. However, external sales strategies also face challenges. Saying no to higher time demands and a lack of personal contact makes it even more difficult in today's market. People were smart about the old way of selling. They find them annoying and alienating. Inbound sales require more upfront work for potentially greater returns. You have to create and distribute content to position it as much as possible so that it reaches your target audience. Customer Journey Understanding the buyer’s journey is critical to an effective inbound sales strategy.

To build a sales process that aligns with each stage of that journey you need to use sales strategies at each stage that align with your customer’s mindset. The buyer’s journey is divided into three key stages. Stage 1 Awareness In this stage potential customers Email Marketing List discover a product or service that may meet their needs. They might find a blog you wrote, stumble upon a video or get a recommendation from a friend. In the awareness stage people have identified their problem but are still trying to decide whether to take action. They are looking into what could help but haven't looked into specific vendors yet. Understanding how people perceive and describe the obstacles they face will help your marketing team understand the mindset of your customers. They can then create content that sparks interest. Stage Two Consideration During the consideration stage the prospect identifies multiple options and actively researches them. They are weighing the pros and cons to decide which is the best option. Customers have many options so sales reps should examine them to create a content marketing campaign that better suits people’s needs than their competitors. Inbound sales reps should do the same research as customers do using things like Google searches to see what is presented first.
